What I want you to understand Is that the timing may never seem right to get started. Your situation, may never be perfect for you to pursue your passions and possibly start a business.
Please understand that when you decide to start your own business, it is not going to be easy for your loved ones to understand what you’re doing. Many of your close friends and family may think they’re showing you support by throwing certain types of questions at you. What they are actually doing is sabotaging your thought process, trying to sway your focus. They’re testing your confidence in your ability to stay confident and strong. Will you weather the storm called Entrepreneurship?
Think about it… When you’re in the checkout line at the store, your eyes are drawn to the, “How to lose weight, even without exercising” headline, right? The more authoritative
This type of headline is tried and true. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Just go with what already works!
You, too, will find people who can relate to what you’re saying, but most importantly how you’re saying it. There’s nothing extra-special about any of us teaching what we teach. It’s simply a matter of finding the right audience who can best relate to how you teach it.
Ok, now that you’ve (hopefully) narrowed down the industry that you’d like to start a business in, what exactly should you do? Well, at this point, you need to ask and answer the following questions:
1.What resources do I have access to?
There are so many moving parts to a small business, you would be surprised at what you will end up doing… marketing, sales, cold calling, accounting, and much more. If you are starting on a super-tight budget, like we did, you can’t afford to make too many mistakes. You can easily find yourself “in the red” and looking for a J.O.B.
Now, you may be thinking, “Ok, Ericka, I get it. Explore my passions and see if I can create a business around it.” YES! That’s exactly what I’m saying. What better life could you possibly imagine, than one where you wake up each morning to your own body clock…
You did an awesome job raising your kids… Congratulations! You know you did a great job because you get compliments about how great they look, how respectful they are and how they are so smart 🙂 How about that bubbly feeling you get inside, and the tear that forms in the corner of your eye when you think about how far they’ve come? Yes, Mom and Dad… that’s all YOU!
Well, it’s alright to be emotional. We’re human! It’s alright to show that you care. We, women and men, are nurturing by nature. This doesn’t make you soft or weak. Please understand the difference.
Some people have no ambition to do more than what they’re doing right now. That’s totally fine… for them. But if you want to live above the ordinary, just-happy-to-get-by lifestyle, you’ll have to do more — a lot more
We all deserve true happiness. My goal is to help each person I come in contact with, reach their own personal and professional goals. That’s the only way we can genuinely treat each other with kindness and respect.

Remember, you will feel uncomfortable,, because you’re not used to these new habits, but hopefully you will feel a bit of self-satisfaction and accomplishment. Get comfortable with the small, but significant change you just made in your life.
There takes a mindset shift to wrap your head around this time and task management practice, but it DOES work! Just make a small change here and there and you’ll see just how productive you really are becoming. The results you see will make you want to make more adjustments.
… even attempting to multitask, is doing more harm than good to your brain. Look, the term “multitasking” originally referred to computers. So, unless you’ve morphed into R2D2, I urge you to slow down, and take each task on, one at a time.

But I was wrong. Becoming an empty nester made me focus on how my role as a parent had shaped my attitudes and interests, and how this passage meant I was less needed in the day-to-day sense of the word. It was painful.
